Insurance Subaru Impreza insurance can be expensive, as with any performance car insurance. But the cheapest car insurance isn't always the best. Share your quotes, and experiences.

All I can say is good luck, try every insurance you can get hold of. Hopefully you will come up with something. I honestly do think you will struggle though

Being only 21, living in london and having the current daddy of subaru's (insurance group 20) is going to be a nasty premium :P

Hello, guyz. Is there any specialist insurer for Subarus? I am 21 and just bought '03 Spec C Ltd. It is a bit modified- intake, exaust and electronics. Any chance of finding a British insurer or do I have to go to some other country? Cheers

2 things that insurers dont like with impreza's, under 25's and jap domestic cars (Grey imports).
You fall into both these categories, you also live in london which has the highest insurance rates, the likes of Tesco's wont touch you due to the car being a JDM car, Liverpool victoria does JDM cars but for over 30's only, your also going to modify the car which no insurance co at your age will like..... well if you have around 5k spare you "may" get insurance, but my advice is, leave it until you get to 25 or get a uk car.

How old are you?
Tesco's will consider depening on age, they will also do imports and mods. Again age is a big factor in this.

The likes of Directline, tesco, nu direct, churchill etc wont insure JDM cars, its hard enough getting insurance for a uk car let alone a JDM one if your under 30 (and im 35!)
Quotes i got though on a uk sti, my03, were 1200 from directline and 1300 from tesco, thats in an M postcode area which is less than most london codes, skilled job, no claims and full ncb, no penalties etc on a standard car, garaged.
Now being 14 years younger i think you will definately stuggle to find anyone who is willing to insure you for a decent ammount, but insurance is one of the things you should have looked at first before buying.
Personally i would cancel the order for your car and look at getting a uk wrx which will be possable to insure but could still cost you an arm and a leg

Tony - Has Tesco changed their criteria on insuring imports?, they are currently insuring me on a Type R with some mods.
