Rubbish, just started my insurance with them from 1/9/03 STi V, as kippax says you have to be over thirty & make sure you give them the right model code, take it from there website

I spoke to them today for a quote on MY99 WRX - as BUDSY suggests, they said that they would offer insurance if the car was listed on their system, and a Type R isn't listed.

Mind you, I wasn't overly happy with their quote - £1122 for a 32 yr old with 7 years no claims and no convictions is quite steep!!

Spoke to them yesterday regarding insuring something else and asked about the Scoob, "We don't do imports" was the reply.

The quote I got for the 'something else' was unbelievably good though.

They certainly do imports - insured mine 2 weeks ago with them on renewal

So you cant say its the same as a P1 then? - which it pretty much is.........

A Plan came close last year at about £100 more than LV

LV certainly *DO* insure imports.... my renewal has just come through.
Quote from renewal document "Cover for 1999 Subaru Impreza WRX (Import) (1994cc)"
Plus those really good phrases like:
Engine/Carb modifications
Exhaust modifications

I was insured by them last saturday, on a MY98 S reg, WRX STI Type RA.

dont get much more imported than that!

you DO however have to be over 30 to be insured on an import. However they do insure anyone for the UK models.

Just to let you know i had a massive row with L&V and now have it in writing that they do not touch type r's ..... I have now insured with Tesco's as they list a type R on their web site and was only £810.00 for a 36 year old 10 years no claims no accidents one conviction

Cool

Its strange some of you saying they don't have the Type R on their system, but they have the 22b?

What's even better is they are only charging me £600 to insure it £50 LESS than my Alfa

BUDSY,

How old are you m8 ?

If you are 28+ and the car has a cat 1, tracker and can be garaged (preferably) then I might be able to assist.

We can cater for a few mods, but they aren't really our thing. You can be sure that they will be insured properly by someone who does know what they are though...

Bell me on 0113 202 1226 if you get a mo if you are still struggling...

Cheers,

John

Ref Dead Neurons

I just tried to get MY00 STi RA insured through L&V and even after arguing the point they did insure them they refused, they said they only way you could have done it is if you were an existing customer prior to the new quote ?
Oh well will have to stick with NU
