I'm having the Dipol Security Lock fitted, for peace of mind and added security, rather than to get my insurance quote down.
But I was wondering (and maybe the forum would be interested) if anyone has found a insurance company that does offer a discount for vehicles with the devise fitted?
Although the devise is featured on the Subaru-Insured web site they don't offer a discount, if fitted to a WRX, but I'm not sure about STi.
If anyone's interested Tesco have quoted me £665, Protected no claims, £450 theft excess, £50 Glass excess, temporary car, 12k per annum, Social/To and from work.
WRX 53MY, Two drivers 36 and 32. 7 years no claim (but only 5 count), Tracker Monitor, Std Subaru Alarm and Immobiliser. Northants Postcode. Driveway.
Additional security: Dipol (repeating myself here) and a Disklok (£39.99 + Vat from Costco). These two make no difference to the insurance premium. Also thinking about a Clifford Blackjak in a few months time.
I've read somewhere that 66% for cars are stolen from outside the home, so I'll be beefing up my house alarm system as well! The AK47 is in the post ;-)

Your be hard pushed to find an insurance company that will give you a discount, for this device, you will have a little more peace of mind though. Its a good visual deterrent.

Hi,
Whilst we don't give a discount for this unit....we will accept it (for certain postcodes) instead of the garaging warranty for STI's....
As mentioned above...its a great visual deterrant if nothing else, and I believe that to date no car has been taken where this unit has been installed and operational
