Possibly but called my insurer yesterday & i get 14 days grace so if i sell scooby withing 2 weeks of getting da bomb then it's all good or failing that i can get an additional policy for just a small sum (well it all seems small after scooby insurance) & then when i sell i get wotevers left on wotever policy so it isn't a big issue for me now just a minor additional short term expenditure

I was thinking cause i'm fully comp on the scoob & can drive other cars that if/when i buy a banger to keep me on the road while selling scoob & before buying next beasty i wood be covered 3rd party on the 2nd lemon. However it came to my attention that the 3rd party only works when the car is covered by someone elses policy ie me driving someone elses car. So the question is how can i avoid taking out an addition policy inbetween getting heap & selling scooby. Can i just not drive it until i sell one & change it over or have i got it all wrong?
Cheers

If your only going to be having two cars for a limited period, your Insurance company should offer the facility to cover the 'heap' for a short period, on your existing policy. Obviously at a charge. Another option is to keep the 'heap' off road until you sell the scoob, then substitute for the 'heap'. Then when you get the next beast, same procedure again.
Ring your insurance company and run it by them, i'm sure they will be happy to advise.

Yeah i think i will do to weigh up the options Surely it doesn't have to be "off" the road thou as long as it's got tax, presuming i wasnt using it?

I recently got a second car(m reg 214) and my insurance comp offered me full ncd on a second policy, £200 a year fully comp,
its not as expensive to run 2 cars as some poeple think! well worth doing just to get the shopping in on a weekly basis, dont yer think, Cheers Taffyboyo.

yeah i'm almost tempted to keep the potential grandad car as a petrol saving, dent oblivious, set of wheels for driving to work & medial tasks as even thou it might cost a fair bit mote in additional MOT etc it shud make up for it with petrol & paranoia saving but on the other hand if i got a big beasty car i wana drive it since it cost so much even if it is only 8 miles to work. But then loads iof unecessary milage will depreciate car more, oh decisions decisions

I agree, running two cars ain't as bad as it sounds, I have been for the past 3 years. Don't get me wrong, i'd like to take my scoob to work everyday if there was somewhere safe to park. I park it in the carpark now and again and the amount of dings in my doors takes the pi$$.
I picked up a Nissan cherry (don't laugh) for £175 from the auctions, its 17 years old and flew the M.O.T
I rest my case.
