No Fault Penalties
What is it with the Insurance industry? I just changed to Liverpool & Victoria - great quote and the day before I joined them, I got hit by a stolen motorbike which was no fault of my own. I reported the incident to L & V and they asked for another £74 on top of the £624 already paid !!!!!!!!
I haven't even claimed from my previous insurers as I may get the repairs done privately depending on the outcome of the police investigation. L & V will not have to pay out a penny regardless so why am I being penalised for something that was not my fault?
NOT H P !

JFB,
its actually classed as a fault claim as your insurance co has to pay for your vehicle to be repaired and thus the reason you get stung for it
The good thing is, is that when (or if) the Motor insurance Beureu (no doubt spelt that wrong
) comes round to settling your claim, you should get your money back
All insurance co's do this so dont worry about it, its just that it may take some time for MIB to pull their fingers out
(3 yrs here
)

'kin hell Tony, 3 years? I won't hold my breath so.
But even if I paid for the repairs myself with no cost whatsoever to the Insurance Company, it seems this "surcharge" still applies as it was an "incident". Hence my gripe.
Cheers

Part of that 3years was getting my injury money off em, i could hardly walk after 7-8hrs, they paid up the insurance co about 6 months after the car was repaired but as it wasnt fully cleared until i got my rather measly 3k for back/neck injuries (and suffered for about 5yrs after the accident and even now get bad backs
) they held that against me, thats why it took 3 yrs.

I think it took me about 18 months to get my money from MIB.A bloody foreigner(portuguese national)in a 10 quid Stanza(it was being used as a mini cab) hit my BMW up the **** while i was stationary:mad;
Got details off him after he admitted fault but found out later that they were false.Atleast we have got something like MIB or i would of been out of pocket by £1000.
Cant remember if i lost any NCB.
