All,

have had good quotes of Tesco and Priv (650-690) for a New non-prodrive STI . But neither replace with a new car if stolen only if total loss!

Who does or is this NORMAL??

Since the biggest depreciation hit is the first year I could end up with no car and not being able to replace it if some scumbag nicks it!!

Has this happened to anybody?

Andy,

Our scheme for the STI offers a FULL replacement within the first 12 months

Wording as follows:

NEW CAR BENEFIT:

What is Insured;

If your car is stolen and not recovered or is damaged and the cost involved in the repair will be more than 60% of the manufacturers list price (including car tax and VAT) at the time of the loss or damage we will replace your car with a NEW car of the same make and model.

We will only do this if your car is less than 12 months old from the date of first registration as new in your name and a replacement car is available.

We will only replace your car if you and any other known interested parties agree. The car being replaced will become our property.

If we cannot obtain a replacement car of the same make and model we will pay you the market value of your car and its fitted accessories and parts at the time of the loss or damage.

Hopefully this helps...guess the cheapest isn't always the best...especially when it comes to this sort of thing (replacement vehicle, courtesy cars etc etc)...

If you want to chat through it some more...please give me a ring on 0113 250 0377

All the best

Rum* (aka Tom)

hmm, it's worth reading the Ts&Cs, innit? It really does look like insurance policies are definitely NOT the same!

Good ol' Rum.
