Know of anyone who gives discount on a P1 for IAM drivers?????
Im hoping (nay, praying) that I should have a P1 on the drive within 6 months and I was wondering if its worth doing an IAM test to help with my premiums..
any advice??
also fwiw, I tred the schofield hughes web site for an investigative quote and it would not load. ?? rum? has the online bit closed?
Cheers!

thanks.
I am aware of that link...
Not sure if they'd cover a P1 for someone under 30
..you never know tho right?
I just wondered if any "mainstream" insurers took IAM certification into account?
*that* is my question.

chrome,
There are a few insurance companies that do take the IAM cert into account and it is something that we ask when quoting for prospects/clients...
Off the top of my head I'm not sure which companies give a discount...and as usual I guess that those that do give discounts are not necessarily the best for scoobs ...c'est la vie I guess.
We will have a look at it for you if you want...numbers as above...
All the best
Tom

thing is Rum/Tom (which do u prefer?);
I dont want to waste your time by asking for a quote based on a "maybe"...
*IF* I can get a worthwhile discount for being an IAM member, then I will *become* a member and do the test
If not, then I might leave it a bit longer to do the AD test..
(still worthwhile doing imho... I don't want to bin the P1 due to my own mistake
Plus, the fact that I am still looking for the right P1 to come my way.... and that being 25 insurance cost is still very high and is a definite consideration (and if the wife how much its likely to be she'd nag me til I die! )
..best quote I had so far was £1435 from Tesco. £250 Comp XS, and £200 Vol' XS.
No courtesy car though. So it kinda cancels the good points out.
Let me know what you think...
