Just gone through this with Privilege....

They insure performance mods on % increase over the original BHP (whatever the hell that was?!)

Just got a decat dp & magnex bb insured in their 0 - 10% increase bracket. Don't know how you are supposed to quantify/know how much extra bhp a certain mod will give you over standard, but there you go.

I'd suggest making the most of it and do some more mods!

Des,

argue with them and ask to talk to someone else. They seem to be doing this a bit more now.....

My MY00 has back and centre non standard for no hike at all in premium. There is no charg for up to 10% increase in bhp normally. Seems to depend on who you talk to on the phone. If they insist you have to pay for it, ask to speak to someone else, or get them to ask someone else. If my policy (and a couple of others who almost got charged) is anything to go buy, they are chancing it that you will pay

This happened earlier this year, so you might be able to find the original thread......

That makes for very interesting reading!

I wasn't too bothered with paying the extra because of the extra I'm now getting, but to see that up to 10% increase in BHP is free for some and £100+ for others because of who you talk to on the phone really makes me mad!!

To top it all, I got a letter back with my revised schedule telling me that I didn't have any theft cover - but that's another story

I know this isn't related to the backbox per se, but speaking of insurance companies Last year I got a Clifford Concept 600 alarm installed in my car and guess how my my 'then' insurance company dropped my premium by?

.
..
...
....

£1.57

Guess who I didn't renew my premium with this year
(My quote for this year was around £130 less than their's for last year pre-alarm)
