Default arent insurance companys awful

hi all

i have had my new scooby for around a month and had a multi car policy running so added the scooby and for 2.5 months of insurance till the end of the policy it cost me 192 quid not bad tbh with you was really happy

so i need a new insurance from march onwards been looking around put in a few quotes for other multi car and just the scoob on its own

im 24 7 years driving 5 years no cliams no convictions cars garaged at night only use it at weekends now most of my insurance since i was 17 has been from the 1k region up to my first car wich was a 106 gti bearing in mind i was 17 and i paid 2k then decalred the mods i done to it and it went up to 3.8k for the year i had no choice but to pay it as was the cheapest quote

so since my first car my insurance has dropped my last car was a leon cupra r and i had it for 3 years and paid 1k each year

but i have been quoted 2k and upwards for my scoob on my own and on multi car its around 1.6k so how do i manage to insure it for 192 quid for 2 and a bit months and they recon im going to be paying 164 quid per month now :S

absolute rip off

Only god, if it fits a certain criteria which 'some' have not.

Most?

I'm able to place a very large amount of risks, but unfortunately the few I can't seem to take it personally and comment in a negative way on any insurance thread.

Take today for example.... I insured 9 new clients on Subaru's, yet not 1 thank you post (not that's it's needed of course).
However, a new insurance thread comes up and straight away 2 people decide to moan I couldn't help them, even though I haven't quoted them for some time.

I can't quote for every risk, but where we can't it's normally for a reason.

I don't make the prices up, we have to stick to the insurers criteria.
By careful underwriting we are able to be competitive year after year, looking after both the insurers and our clients.

I appreciate this won't please everyone, but please don't be offended if we are unable to quote you a good price.... it's nothing personal.

Maybe my 'most' quote was a bit unjustifiable, but it wasn't a dig, you've just took it that way

Who do you use as underwriters?

i have had an outrageous quote from directline today im not in a rush to get insurance as have a month left and may stay with the company im with as works out around 100 quid a month

but directline came back with this the car is garaged and use 3 days a week on weekends mainly lunch times and will cover maybe 3k -5k a year max with 7 years no claims and a excess of 500 quid it came through at 7459 for the year lmfao

so they said if i put more excess it would come down so they put it up to 1k excess and yes it was just shy of 7k for the year

are some comapnies just out for the money ?

i will wait for my renewal quote from the company im with as seem to be cheaper but if not happy will get one of the fellas on here to quote me happy i hope
