Default Best speakers for Alpine head unit

Just bought myself an alpine CDR 113BT head unit at a good price as an end of line from halfords for the Spec D, I have to say it's loads better than the std Pioneer head unit. It has similar features what with the bluetooth phone pairing and the iPod control. But its a lot more user friendly and no interfierance for the person I am speaking to.
The system sounds okay through the std speakers too, but I do fancy an front speaker up grade. But its which ones to go for....

Do I go for these
http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/s...egoryId_265870
But I have read that these are no good for bass.
Or do I go more the cross-over or component route. As far as I know the original speakers have a main speaker cone and a separate tweeter near the interior for handle. So if i replaced with coaxials would the tweeter have to go.

Any ideas please

Thanks warren

personally keep the standards unless your going to amp some decent speakers like focal components & replace the factory ones like that, otherwise i'm pretty sure you will not get any benifit from changing standards to the alpines your looking at, could actually sound worse as the standards should have reasonable bass response as standard, the alpines will not be as good in my opinion.

After changing quite a few speakers in many cars i have found that the real good way to hear an improvement over stock (especially newer cars) is you need good speakers like focal & to run well they need a good amp to run them, then you will get the extra bass, even when you crank it up as they are made for it. Not like a sub bass but punchy & clear.

As always, my advice is to buy NO spesakers on someone else's recommendation, go out and hear some.

Mine were bought after blind testing in Halfords, but then bought off t'internet
