Default Blob door speakers!

Mine have started to crackle, still got the factory head unit. No intention of changing that but will need to do something about the speakers now. Any ideas on size? Front and Rear?

Cheers,
Andy

My blob and hawk both have 6 1/2'' components fitted. You will need spacers for them though otherwise they foul the window mechanism. Corsa III spacers from auto leads do the job or there's a guy in yank land that does some custom fit spacers from some plastic thats easy to modify to fit the speakers. I used them on the hawk with Vibe Lite-air speakers to keep the weight down a bit but the difference is massive. the standard speakers are complete crap.

I think the rear doors can take 10cm but not sure. the blob has some pioneer 2 ways fitted and the hawk has a set of components fitted to the rear shelf.

They are a doddle to get off, Undo the screw thas hidden in the bit you grab hold of to shut the door, same with the one behind the inside door handle, Then grab the bottom of the door card and give it a pull and it should start to pop off

Nope, But bear in mind that many "upgrade" speakers are deisgned to run off an external amplifier, and so don't work well off of a headunit. So stick to lower priced speakers, something like alpines will do fine, as they're designed to what you need.

no need to take the screw out of the inside door handle. just remove the trim around it... You can get a door card off in 2 minutes
