Default ice bods - good components?

i want some components, have a 12' sub for bass, not ideal for hard dance but 12' will do. Looked at massive audio ck6 but cant get them any less then £180 over here, had alpine type-r before but theyre top end of my budget, been recoemended Kenwoods - anyone use them?

Budget of £100-£150
6.5i / 17cm
potential for an amp

what would people recomend these days, been 3 years since i bought car audio

Down from £300, should i take the plunge?
Car Audio & Security: Car Stereo, Speakers & Subwoofers, Car DVD Players, GPS and CD Changers

I bought all of my stuff from the states and saved at least 40%. Only things are you may pay a bit of duty but still loads cheaper. I ended up with Rockford top of the range components for about £200. They were £500 here at the time.

Just beware of the head units as they differenct spacing on the frequencies so you can't get all stations.

Focal Components. Just awesome. They will sh*t on pioneer kenwood alpine and the like big time. Although you can find them for the money your willing to spend you'll probaby have to get a SH set but they'll be worth it. If I hadn't spent ridiculous money on my components I'd have some Focals in a flash!!

I couldn't agree more with You Daz....I am a Focal man myself when it comes to components but at a budget you may also look out for DLS, Polk, MB Quart, Rainbow, Infinity....

Both sets your after do represent good value for the price, however to get the best out of em you'll need to get em amped up.

cheers for the advice lads

andy h used to do loadsa ice installs at his old shop and recomended kenwoods as out of a few sets they had on display they sounded awesome from the rest.

i had alpine type r 3 times before and couldnt fault them, they did it for me all day everyday, but not done an ice install for near on 3 years so maybe thought id try the kenwood underdog
