The suround trim around the stereo just pulls off, it is a bit tight but a good tug gets it out, then you will see the scrws holding the head unit in place.

You could remove the top vent panel first to make things easier if you like, pop the cup holder and remove the screws, pull out the cup holder then the upper vents. Then you can get a better grip on the lower panel.

You need to pull until you think it's going to break then a bit harder A very worrying time!

i did this the other day and the found that the aerial on a bug sti is fixed permanently to the factory stereo?? I was planning on fitting a double din from a blobeye but that had the normal type plug socket to take a aerial plug. Can anyone tell me how to get round this??

If there is enough cable just cut it off and fit a normal aerial plug

Is it not a flying lead with a socket after about 2' of cable? I'm sure mine was, trace the aerial cable back from the stereo and I'm sure you'll find a socket.
