Same old question, sorry.
But, wheres the best place to mount my amp in the front to power my Infinity 605's on MY97 ?
It should fit under the front seat, but is this the best place for it ?
Cheers

The amp is 180W x 2 is this too much for them ?
I've got Infinity 552i's in the back and plan to add a sub too.
Shall I use this amp for the sub (bridged) or rears instead and get another amp ?

'tis I.
Sorry, not knowing the amp I didn't want to give advice. If you want to keep space, then under the front seat is a good 'un, but make sure you cover the terminals well, and that the amp can't be kicked by errant feet, etc.
Failing that, rough 'n' ready on the back seat is always a good option, no matter what the question is...

Thanks mate. Looks like a back seat job then How about the power, too much for the Infinitys ? They're running off the 47w Kenwood unit at the moment and sound pants, no bass what so ever, precious little mid too. Shall I leave them off the head for the time being, and sub it up ?

DJ,
Not sure about UK cars as they have the fold down rear seats, Mr Tang did an amp rack for his MY99 UK I believe.
I recently made up an amp rack for my MY99 STI-V, has 2x Alpine V12 amps on it, also made the same rack up for Peter Holt on his MY99 STI-V too, fits nice and neatly

Amp the 605CS up to 100W RMS. I suspect your 180W x 2 will actually be 90WRMS, but depends on brand! It would be a powerful/expensive 2 channel amp to be too much for them - they will take about ten times the power that a typical headunit will give them

Thanks John, was kinda thinking that the 'quoted' output would not be RMS. Think I'll have to have a play about to see what sounds best
Thinking of mounting the amps under the rear shelf now, don't really want to loose boot floor space or lack of folding rear seats . . . what do you think ? Probs with overheating when upside down ?

Yep, I'm just around the corner ().
Bit busy this weekend, GF's birthday, appreciate the offer tho
I'm not in too much of a rush, so anytime really.
Some nice chap pointed you and Pete Holt out, can't remember his name. He's one of the Sussex/Surrey Crew, had a video camera and a huge Scooby Doo on the backseat of his wagon with a seatbelt around it. Do you know who he is ? He also introduced me to the former owner of my Sport Small world.
Liked your tyre-space-retaining trick when going for the burger run
