Screen in top box

Hi
Im thinking of having a tv screen put into the top box of my my00 interior, just wondering if anyone else has done this and what size of screen they managed to fit in. 7" widescreen would be nice but i dont think it will fit in
The lid must be able to close with the screen inside, what is underneath the box? could i cut away the base but still use the lid?

I think VDO Dayton (or whatever they are called) had a P1 with a screen where the top binnacle is/was. You might be able to find some pics of it somewhere 
As for what is under the binnacle....
Have a look at the bottom pic on here http://www.mrtrally.com.au/performance/dashpod.htm
It's basically the vent feeder pipes which you should be able to remove/chop out.
