It looks like this year is the year that MP3 really hits the mainstream with many units being made available, including innovation from Sony, Kenwood, Pioneer, Blaupunkt...

CarAudioDirect have an information page devoted to new MP3. Looks like it could be interesting.

Me? I'm sticking with Limp

Forgot to mention: one of the highlights is a CD changer from kenwood that finally handles ISO format CDs with MP3 files on 'em. THe other, for me, is that Phatbox has been rolled into Kenwood's product line-up as the Music Keg.

I hope they do better with it than Rio did with Empeg...

What do you reckon, MP3 headunit or m-station??? Also can i lik this to the standard head unit in a MY02?

In all honesty, go for what suits you best. If you've got an aux input, then M-station is cheap. If not, a new head unit may be best.

And the music keg or changer may work with the MY02 head unit as that's a kenwood, but I wouldn't be sure until someone's actually plugged the thing in and had it working!

Cool

well I was planning on going for a Pioneer MP7400, though may wait a little while for one of these CD Changers that play MP3's, looks like it may be best suited to my needs. Thanks for the link

Nick
I need to put a new head unit and cd changer in my new car when it arrives. I have always used the Kenwood top of the range stuff. Is this new kit available now.
2nd question, if you were going to spend under a grand on a head unit and cd what would you go for?

It's due "real soon now". New ranges normally are available march-april time...

If I was spending a grand, then I'd possibly go for a good in-dash MP3 player and the PS series changer. Depends on how much music you want really - do you want a bank of MP3 discs accessable, or a raft of music (as in the music keg). I've got the best of all with my MP3 player, a decent CD changer and in-dash minidisc.

Good luck with your choice

Nick.
