Default Which Optima battery ?

I have two amps to run & would like to know which Optima battery would suit me better (yellow or red top) ?

Cheers Andy

Yellow top but they don't do a reverse terminal version IIRC so you would need to change the terminal leads. Blue top is often cheaper and the same as the yellow top but comes with extra (smaller) terminals which could prove useful so not to overload and clutter one terminal.

I have the RedTop 4.2 reverse terminal which has been great, but I have no amps just the usual subaru stuff which drains a normal battery to buggery.

Zak has a Yellow top mate if you need to see what he has done with the terminals.

The yellow top is much heavier IIRC obvioulsy as it contains more lead.

Mine

OPTIMA® RedTop R 4,2 Optima Batteries UK

Yellow/Blue

OPTIMA® YellowTop S 4,2 Dual Power Optima Batteries UK
Blue Top 4.2 DCM Optima Batteries UK

Cheers Stu.

I did see Zak's yellow top & the tray needed to be cut away a bit but should be okay for me to do.

I have just come across the Stinger range while browsing a car audio shop so wonder if these are as good as the Optima range.

The tray is only plastic, I just put the one end in and tightened it super firm and squashed it

Not heard of the Stinger range but optima seem to be world renowned

I think I got mine from fourleaf batteries, ask for their best price see if they can get near trade Same question I asked and I got a discount. Don't write off the blue top though, would match the car exactly the same in every way but with the extra terminals.
