Anyone know what the Pioneer FH-P80BT is like???
Have been toying with the idea of upgrading my trusty 8 year old Alpine (been in the last 3 cars) with one of these, anyone know what they are like???
Car Audio Direct - Pioneer FH-P80BT - Double DIN
Loving the looks, has all the connections and playback I need.
I've had Alpine's since I've been driving and haven't got a clue what Pioneer are like.
Can't find any reviews anywhere as it's quite a new unit.
Don't really fancy a DVD player so this maybe next on the list!!
Cheers
Ross

I recently bought and installed one of these in my 05 Blobeye and am very pleased with it - the iPod navigation from the head unit is the best I have found so far, it looks good in the car and fits well, and the mic and USB cable are easy to route around the car. I can get some pics if you like.

Here you go:
As it's shiny it picks up a fair bit of dust but not too bad. The buttons are indeed quite sparse but you do most of the navigation via the dial thing - it turns and also "clicks" left, right,up and down and inwards (like an iPod click wheel). You press LIST to bring up the navigation stuff. I needed to read the manual but once done it's pretty straightforward.
Let me know if you would like any more info.

I got it from Car Audio Direct at the link on the first post along with a Subaru harness adaptor. I'm also looking at upgrading the speakers now, it's a slippery slope

Thanks for the reply and picture Mike, really liking the look of it
I've got an 8Gig USB stick instead of an iPod, do you know if the headunit allows you to go up and down the tracks on a stick (like a PC would), or does it just play the whole lot in sequence???
Thanks again
Ross

Nice one, thanks Stu, I was looking at your Kenwood too, but the Pioneer just looks really cool and different, will have a look at the Lodge
It would make life so much easier by sticking the USB stick in and acting like an iPod.
Cheers

Also, I would like to route a ipod USB cable inside the dash to come out into a black ipod cradle that sits in front of the ash tray. Has anyone else attempted this??

Hi Mike Jenkins,
Is it possible you could put on some more pics of your Pioneer stereo installed in your Scooby, as i'm unable to get the pic above to open up. Failing that private message it to us if you don't mind.
Thanks alot in advance

Sorry to re-open this, but I just wanted to ask something on the off-chance that someone is still reading this.
I recently bought this stereo and I want to like it, I really do. However, I have a 2004 Honda Civic Type-S and there is no dashboard clock as standard (why, oh why?!), only the clock on the original head unit. As I have removed the original stereo and replaced it with this Pioneer, I would ideally like to be able to see the clock display at all times, but it seems I can't do that. It appears it's not even possible to push a button to get the time to display, which is REALLY disappointing. I've seen other similar Pioneer units with a "CLOCK" button, but there isn't one on this one, and the "DISP" button doesn't bring up a clock either!
Am I right in thinking that for me to know what time it is, the stereo needs to be off or in bluetooth mode (thus with no music playing)?!
Can anyone help me figure a way of displaying the clock anytime I need to see it or, even better, all the time?
Any help would be very much appreciated!!
