50w per channel to 45w - will I notice?
Hi Guys - grateful for some opinions.
I recently bought an Alpine ipod compatible HU which is 50w per channel - and have Infinity 5010cs up front with some old school Cadence rear spears - and no amp. I love the sound, and have a Blitz Nur Spec R, which is fully decatted... and hence volume of music is usually relatively loud, but still good quality.
However, the interface mechanism for searching the ipod is a bit combersome - and I've seen the new Alpine HU with the round jog dial (a cheaper version of the X-001 - but without a spring loaded jog dial - so looks a lot easier to use - adn cheaper!). However - this HU is only 45w per channel - do you think I'll notice a difference in sound quality and volume - bearing in mind I don't want to install an amp - and have a stupidly load exhaust?
Grateful for views on this - not sure if there's a real difference to be detected between the 50 and the 45w?
Cheers!!!

I would doubt you'll notice, as it is the peak (likely RMS) value you are comparing. So unless you have your old stereo FULL volume, and plan to have your new one the same, you wont notice.

NO if they have similar characteristics like signal to noise, ohms, etc then no you won't. Unamped definitely no (I'm assuming they have similar build quality).
Note for amping, to get twice the volume (at a given input) of a 50 watt amp you would need a 500 watt amp.
