Question

My Japanese import MY93 WRX has a duff stereo head unit. Firstly, the radio has Japanese frequencies, secondly the CD doesn't work, and thirdly, I am sick of listening to the same few tapes I have.

I want a replacement head unit that will just slot easily into the existing space. I'm also a heathen and don't care about superb quality, just functionality (read cheap). I want a CD/Radio/tape unit and want the CD to load in the car rather than the boot (can't be doing with all the wiring).

Any advice/suggestions would be greatly received. If anyone has their old head unit they are desperate to get rid of cheaply - even better!

(BTW, I did a search on "heathen" and "cheap crap" and found nothing )

You will have fun trying to get a CD/tuner/tape unit all in one.. Unless you put the changer under seat or in glove box.
I would try the second hand market . Friends ,local car hi-fi shop etc. Could always find out if anyone here has a working unit like yours for sale, from their WRX

JVC makes a unit like that, the KW-XC770.As well as Jensen, the CM715K.There are a couple others but I can't think of them at the moment, they were el-cheapos.
Hope this helps.
