Fancy a new head unit.
Does anybody have any opinion on the Sony Giga pane HU. For those of you who don't know - it's a HU with 1 gig of memory in the faceplate which you can throw songs on straight from your pc. It seems a great idea to me. Not sure about the looks though (i like sommat nice to look at )
I've always had pioneer but they don't seem to have many options these days
What you all got?
I want MP3 most importantly

I don't have a double din setup and i don't have an ipod
I thought the Giga Panel thingy was a good idea as i don't really want a memory stick stuck out of my head unit. It's just a shame that, that particular unit ain't very pretty to look at. My present HU is a 5 year old Pioneer 8600 with all the bells and whistles, and still looks very upto date. Unfortunately, the whole world seems to be going in the MP3 direction. I'm only going in this direction as my existing cd changer is nearly dead and i don't really wanna blow £150-£200 on a new one of them

What about one of the kenwood units? They use usb but you can just plug a lead into them and have a normal memory stick located in the glovebox.
Kenwod kdc 6534u is a nice unit. It's about £160 most places (£148 on ebay inc free remote control, or £160 on ebay inc kenwood 6x9's)

That sounds good actually. If i read that right, are you saying there is a lead that plugs into the back of the unit (out of sight) which you route to the glove box?

yes, exactly.
I bought one saturday for the mrs, went to local shop in the end. Goes to show mark up though.. it was £269.99 on the ticket, gave him the "£165 online" etc and he done ot for £180 in memory stick. Ended up going a bit ott and bought new 6x9's sony amp, wiring kit. Total of £420.. got it all for £290
Never pay shop prices

Thanks for the reply.
In the end i've gone for the KDCW7534U simply because i prefer the look over the 6534u . I've managed to get it for £253 with a 2 gig stick, big *** remote and delivery
Not allowed to fit it until crimbo day though apparently
