Default Dvd screen parking sensor help

Hi all,

I just got a Kenwood DDX-6027 and installed it but only just realised i need to connect the sensor to the parking sensor (hand brake) to get the screen working.

Anyone done this and know where i can find this?
I've got a 2005 wrx if this helps

Also can you set jpegs as backgrounds, say when playing a cd or tuner?

(I know i'm getting old when i have to look at manuals to work out how to use new technology!)

Connecting to earth sounds like a better plan!

Did you just connect that lead to a part of the chassis then or negative?
Guess if i connect it to any part of the car it should work right?

Bit annoying if you can't have a background pic when listening to music, would look better if you could, have to have a play tomorrow.

Cheers.

Any metal part of the car will do & i tend to have the map screen up all the time with a floating menu at the bottom for whatever i'm listening to

Got the 7025 myself, but I think its only the 8027 that you can load on new backgrounds.

On mine there is certainly an option to change the background style, with different little background icons, but I can't say they do anything for me. There's also a preloaded "picture" on mine but again, can't say it does anything for me. At night I usually flick to the black screen with the icons on the bottom row, as it saves dimming the bright blue to a level where u can focus on the road.

The only thing i've found is if you put a cd in with pics it'll show em when you listen to the radio.

Other than that i haven't found any other way.

Like the idea of the black screen with just the icons. I always just turned the screen off.

from memory i think its ther "F" button above the blue power button on the left. Press it twice from the main blue SRC screen and you'll get a row of control buttons at the bottom of the screen, and some info at the top which will disappear after a few seconds. If you dont have the plain black background I think you might have to toggle to vidio input button at the bottom on the LHS.

If that doesn't work, you could always RTFM
