Portable MD 'aux in' on car stereo
Hi there I have another question for you..
I want to connect my portable mini disc player to my new car stereo (which I haven't got yet though i must add). I know I can do this though the 'Aux in' on back of the head unit.
Does anyone know if there is any way I would be able to control the MD player by using the controls on the head unit? Is this possible or are these just audio inputs?
See I would of thought this possible as when you connect a multi shuffler you can control it and the text appears on the head unit...
Please advise
Thanks...

AFAIK, if both are Sony, you MAY be able to do it via a Sony source selector, XA30 (IIRC).
Sony will advise via their website helpline or phone them.
It's NOT a cheap option though, the source selector is £120!!! I looked into it for control of my Sony MP3 player, but I'm not paying £120...........I already have MD and CD changers in the car.
I don't think you'll do it if they aren't the same make
