Default stereo change

Can anyone tell me how to extract the standard radio/tape unit from my 98 outback and should this:

connect directly into the existing connections?

Many thanks in advance

Are the 97 onwards scoobys not just the 2 pins? There should be 4 wee holes 2 at either side of the headunit, you need a special removal tool for them (£4:49 from Halfords) put these in the stereo will then pill out,you might need a autoleads iso adapter pc2-44-4 (£13:49) from Halfords they might need to order it in but only takes 2/3 days, they will tell you you do need on,coz it comes up on their computer it does, but check as some scoobs that have the Philips head unit allready have them. Hope this helps
