Replacing Original Stereo in MY95 - How?

Replacing Original Stereo in MY95 - How?
Hi everyone.
I am a newbie and purchased an import MY95 WRX Wagon on Thurday 16th September. Very nice it is and I have already done 500 miles.
I want to replace the original Subaru stereo with a panasonic MP3 player but i cannot see how i can get the original out.
Do i have to remove the centre console or can i pop the plastci inserts on the centre console around the stereo out.
I have no manual and so i am working blind.
Any help will be appreciated.
