I'm about to purchase a Sony CDX 4000R Head Unit tomorrow. Is this good or bad? £140 fitted?

I don't know how this hu rates but sounds like reasonable value.

Just a thought - the alpine 7861R in dash cd tuner has had great reviews and can be picked up for £220 if you shop about. Does't include fitting but at an RRP of £299 this sounds like good value.

Maybe I should buy one.

Let us know your decision and what you think of your purchase.

Cool

CLS

I picked up a CDX-5000R head unit a couple of weeks ago for £123 (not fitted) - So I reckon that's not bad (considering that there is not a great deal of difference in the head units mentioned)

Cheers

Thumbs up

Yes I bought the Sony unit. I told them at the shop that I'd probably need the speakers doing as well. They told me that I should wait until I heard the new head unit in action. I am very impressed! I know that there are better sound systems around but for the price I paid it has transformed not only the sound but the look of the interior as well. I am well pleased
