Talking Infinity 6000cs fitted to MY03

Just fitted some Infinity 6000cs components.
Real easy fit with 12mm MDF spacers, the pics shows the crossover wrapped in bubble wrap and then velcro'ed to the panel.

The 6000cs have a depth of only 53mm and easily clears the window and clears the door card.

I removed the woofers later and fitted Dynomat around them.

They are very nice indeed, clear and accurate with good bass.

They are easy to drive being 92dB sensitivity and my Pioneer DEHP77MP is having no trouble at all, in fact I have no need for an amp.
I would recommend.

Davedipster

Do you not find them a bit harsh at the top end ??

Did the 77MP fit without problems ??

Hi Dipster,

Did you waterproof the top of the speaker? There's a lot of water gets in between the inner and outer door skin.

My 6000cs install is here http://www.connec2.co.uk/subaru/subaru.htm

Gary.

PJA,
I don't find them harsh at all, I run the 77MP with a little bass and mid boost (+1 on low and mid in the custom setting) and loudness on low and it sounds very neutral.
The crossovers do have a -3db to half the tweeter output, but I havent used this option.
The 77MP fits real easy, all the fitting holes line up with the supplied screws.
The autoleads adapter is ready to go, just connect up and connect the Two blue/white bullets for the amplified FM aerial.

Gary,
I used your website for my install; in fact it made me do it
I did read that you used duck tape on the top back of the speaker, but after driving about 20miles in the pouring rain I took the door card off to do the work and the speaker was dry. A little water had got in there somehow, but the paper cone and speaker was dry, so I decided not to tape it.

I also used another method to mount the crossover as you have probably seen, the bubble wrap is something my local installer mentioned to prevent rattles and when the door card is put back on it is nicely held in place so it definitely cannot move.

I also dynomatted the door as you did, well worth the effort me thinks.

Dipster, I have the same speaker and headunit but I seem to get lost of disortion with anything bassy, even with the volume quite low. I think the spacers that were used - Corsa ones - are too deep and the front of the speaker is catching on the door card. Where id you get your spacers froma nd how much were they?
