Opportunity for someone to make me feel really stupid:

How do you get to the front door speakers on a MY96 WRX import?! Thought I'd have a quick look the other night at how easy it would be to fit some Pioneers I've got but I couldn't find a recess to pop the grilles out.

I guessed that maybe you have to take the door pocket off ... or even the whole door card but I couldn't find any screws or anything to get them off the door.

In hindsight, maybe I shouldn't have tried it on my driveway in the pitch black!

Can't believe it's basically the same as my 1979 (designed in 1959) Mini - seems you have to (undo 2 screws and then) just pull the door card off and hope that the little plastic clips that hold it on actually come out with it and don't just break off in the door!! Hmmm, where's the Japanese technology there then?!
