After looking around, quite a lot, would really appreciate some feedback and advice on what headunit to go for...
1. I need something that will fit the MY03 STi dash (single DIN), though must support some sort of auto-MASK and/or face-off security
2. Must support MP3 playback - from CDR/RW - from DVDR would be a bonus
3. RDS Radio - with Radio text (one of those things you get used to!) would be a bonus
4. Silver / blue fascia, which fits in nicely with standard dash would be ideal - though the least of my worries if something else fits all the other criteria.
5. Ability to have a wheel mounted wireless remote would be very good - a la Kenwood infrared job, that I've had before
6. Good quality - Looked through the Alpine and Kenwood range so far
7. DVD playback / integral screen would be great - but by no means a necessity.
As you can see, not too fussy, and am looking at the Kenwood (Z838W) or Alpine (CDA-9815RB) at the moment - so any feedback on these specifically is also very much appreciated.
Thanks very much.

I've fitted the Kenwood KDC-PSW9524. No screen or DVD, but if you want that you're looking at large money IMHO... You could always add a separate screen and DVD player in the future and route the sound through an optional Aux-in adaptor.
There's a review that I wrote a few weeks back - have a search for that.
Cheers,
Nick.

I've just taken delivery of an Alpine 9812RB. Not quite all the features of the 9815 (ipersoanlise, lesser base engine). £239 at Letsbuy. I couldn't really justify the extra £100 for the 9815.
I'm fitting it in the next few days so I'll let you know what it's like with standard speakers.
