I am in the middle of installing my ICe and have forgotten the best way to get the lowest load to my amp for maximum power

The amp is a Audiobahn A18001d digital 1800 @1ohm
The subs are Dual voie coil 6ohm subs, I have two of these

I seem to remember that the wiring should go as follows -

+ of rh channel to + of sub 1 then + of sub one again and then + of sub 2 and then + of sub 2 again
and
- of lh channel to -of sub 1 and again and then - of sub two and again
As i said i want to get as close to one ohm as possible to maximise the power
What resistance would the amp be seeing with the above configuration?

Try this link www.eatel.net/~amptech/elecdisc/
According to the calculation you should be getting around 1.5 ohms the now.

Yep, that will give you a 1.5 ohm load, which is the lowest you'll get with your current setup.

Parallel all the voice coils up, you'll get 1.5 ohm nominal.

When working out resistance...

In series: Equivalent Resistance = R1 + R2 + R3 + ...

In parallel: 1/Equivalent = 1/R1 + 1/R2 + 1/R3 + ...

Cheers,
Nick

Positives of all subs connected together and then to the amp +

Negatives of all subs connected together and then to the amp -.

Whether you run individual cables from the amp terminals to each sub, or whether you "daisy chain" is up to you. Theoretically individual cables should give a marginal improvement.

It may be better but try getting 4 8 guage cables into one hole:-)

Thanks for you help, better go finish it off now then

The pioneer website is so slow, just taken 10 mins to locate the wiring diagram for the av master unit, thought it would be quicker than rooting in the loft, maybe not LOL
