Not long had the car and want to remove the standard rear speakers then fit some 6X9,s from underneath.I was wondering if it was possible to just remove the grills to get to the speakers and not have to take the rear seat out,the cars a my00 cheers in advance ed.

they just pull off, then you can remove speekers. Dont thing you will get 6x9's in though

**** - after all these years I've been unnecessarily removing the seats and shelves? Damn! I must not have pulled hard enough. "D'oh!" doesn't really sum it up!

If you pull them off, and are lucky enough not to break them, you can probably get the speakers out, but not the blanking plate that they sit in.

You will need to remove this plate to get any chance of fitting 6*9's.

Besides, you'll never fit the grilles properly again, as the clips that hold them are underneath.

Rear seat and trim out job, i'm afraid

Coogie's right -- no refitting of grills I'm afraid. the 'grip' washers that hold the lugs of the grills are underneath the shelf trim (therefore you can't refit them). Mine just sit in the locating holes though - don't rattle or move so no real issue.
