Unhappy

I picked up my STi8 on Saturday and had the dealer replace the standard ICE with my Kenwood MD head unit, which has been sitting around homeless for the past few months.

In all the excitement of picking the car up, I didn't check the stereo. Basically, it is wired in OK and the mask plate revolves as it should, but it doesn't function.

It looks like it needs the signal from the stereo security key fob to re-activate it. The problem is, since it being taken out of my old one, sitting around and being installed in the new car is has gone walkabout - and I now have a useless stereo!

Does anyone know if I can get a replacement? I need it sorted soon as it is bad enough driving around under 4K rpm let alone without any music!

Cheers
Peter

Speak nicely to kenwood. You should have a "passport" included with the documentation that allows you to get your unit sorted.

You will need some form of proof of purchase, too, for reasons that are fairly obvious.

Thanks Chiark

Have emailed Kenwood and am waiting for a response. Now to find the "passport" - probably with the security key fob!
