Please help!
I have recently aquired a Kenwood KRC-579R Radio Cassette Player & a Kenwood KDC C467 6-CD Autochanger to replace OE stuff. It only seems fair to my MY01 to do a reasonable upgrade on the speakers too.
What exactly (size and make) should I shop around for, as a reasonably decent set of speakers to compliment my new system?

Just a couple of suggestions for a set of reasonably good speakers (£50 ish?) -as well as sizes- would be really useful so that I have a starting point for a search.
Cmon guys..!

would you consider getting a small amp and sound deadening stuff first????
This is going to help things a lot. Then you can wait for some nice components to come up for sale here. This could be your best route. Forget the rear speakers, Just go for a 2 way amp for the front.
Alpine and Infinity are names that will always pop up. depends on how you like your sound!!!!!
But a small amp and S/d material is how most might go..
be lucky

http://www.mcs-direct.co.uk Is where I buy stereo stuff from.
I've just bought a set of Infinity 605 CS Component speakers from them for my MY01. About £80.00.
They do take a bit of fitting but there is a handy guide here

Cheers guys.
Specific examples like Nathan L used are most helpful to get me started; I know it's hardly top-of-the-range stuff that I've got- all I want are speakers to do my new system justice.

Yep it's dynamatted both in the doors and in the boot.
I'd go for the focals at around 120 quid, as they've had good reviews and will be hard to beat. Other option is to go for the tried and trusted Infinity 605s. I find them good but a little bright, but for the money you can't go badly wrong.
The speakers that I have are from CDT audio. Neutral, bordering on laid back, but I like 'em. I think they have an entry range at around 160 quid?
Nothing more distressing than seeing someone dismantle half your door in 5 seconds, is there?
