Unhappy

Need to do a relatively econonomical install in wifes Corsa Gsi,

I've installed a few head units on previous cars so no prob there, but does anyone know where I can get some info on what I need to istall a sub in the boot, what amp, cabling etc, and how it all fits together..

all this 'active crossover', pre-outs, etc is lost on me..

I'm aiming for Front speakers (100cm) (Mids/tweeters ?), amp and sub in boot, do I need rear 6x9's as well or will sub just drown them..

need some simple 'layman's terms..

Cheers

I havent ever fitted anything in a corsa, although my mate did have one, with his 6 be 9's in it in the back shelf, had an MDF shelf built. Being as the car is fairly small, with a pretty sound proof boot, i would think that having a sub on a seperate amp and the shelf speakers on a seprate amp, i would think the base could/would overpower the midrange that you want from the shelf speakers. You should get some gold RCA cables, carries the sound better !! we found that its possible and looks tidier to run the RCA leads down the center console and along the left side of the gear box and through and under the back seats with the amp fitted to the back seats. You will need to lift up the carpet though. Hope this is of some help.

Try the faq for a general grounding - that might help?
