Wow, what a difference! Changed the std double din to one of these on the weekend, and blimey it's superb.

I was supposed to be getting a set of Infinity 605cs as well but seeing as MCS direct was d1cking around with my order, I cancelled the 605's.

Urm, whoops, the standard speakers are not ideal are they. Apart from the 605's (which need fitting mods) are there any other good straight fit speakers out there?

Got the same unit myself (from MCS) and am very pleased with it. Still got to get round to doing the speakers. I was looking at getting 605's from MCS as well so I concerned they have messed you about.
I didnt have any problems with the head unit order.

Most will fit. Some may need an MDF collar making, but most will fit. Depends on how "ingenious" you want to get

I'm afraid I don't have an MY01+ myself to give you the definitive answer. Yet.

Against such crushing arguments I can hardly refuse can I?

Gotta pay this car off first, then save a bit of money for the deposit. Then, according to She Who Must Be Obeyed, "we'll see".

David, you've met my wife... She may look like she wouldn't hurt a fly, but there's other ways to control me

Unhappy

I bought some 12mm MDF on the weekend to fit the Infinity speakers, even bought a rotozip jobbie to cut the shapes from the MDF.

Urm, all I can say is that I'm glad I stuck to databases! I'm certainly not going to make carpenter of the month with my efforts.

A point to note however, Some of you mentioned that there would be a splashguard with the OE speakers? I couldn't find any with my speakers Any ideas?

Just managed to make 2 MDF collars for some Infinity speakers, urm those standard speakers are a bit weedy arn't they?

Anyway, point to note for other people with an 8400 head unit, I fond it a bit difficult to insert/eject the CD's due to the overhang of the mouse mat. [Read: drink holder]

Try the unit in the lower slot and have the sunglasses holder above, it seems to be a better solution. I'll try and post a pic if i can find my camera.
