Hi Everyone,

hopeing someone can shed a bit of light on this problem i am having, i had a 2007 hawkeye with 12" type r alpine sub and it shock the car, you could have not asked for more it was that good. i upgraded to the 2015 sti and moved over my audio and the bass is lame beyond lame suer dupa lame, i changed my alpine sub for a rocky p3, meh was better but not great, so again more power i brought i Rocky T1 yes the bass was better but nothing like me 07 car.

anyone have any idea?

Are you using the the same head unit/amp/ wiring kit etc should be same sound quality if using a full setup as they are both saloons if I'm right in thinking so ??

well would not go as far as the same. new mono block amp, and new 4 channel, wires etc the same and deck is also new.

put my sub in my mates golf and rocks the place up.. big time!!

Them alpine subs are mint quality and golfs are always gonna have deeper base due to the way the boot is, I'd say it's got to be the head unit as long as the amp is of same quality for defo

It's far less likely to be just the head unit.

Your 2007 had a piece of molded foam as a rear seat bench... Your new car has proper split seats, far more substantial. As a test, try folding the one rear seat forward, shutting all doors and see if it makes a massive improvement or not


AFTER that, try turning up the setting on your amp, bit at a time.
