Also rear sills amd any rust around the windscreen area And how orange is the red ?
Seats any stains or damaged door panels
How shiney is the steering wheel and gear ****
Picture and cleaning of the engine bay
Car could be worth anything from £800 -£2200 as it won't be a face lifted version and is 22 years old

The cars of that era are generally increasing in value, particularly for any in good original condition. Look at the ridiculous prices of stuff like xr3i's, renault 5 turbos, and 205 gti's. So, if it's in good condition, and the paint hasn't faded or bubbled, with plenty of receipts for the work from reputable places, plus a good thick wedge of specialist service history then I think £5k wouldn't be unreasonable.

Great but the op car is a Wrx!! Imo these what's it worth or mine is worth more cause this and that are pointless. A car is worth what someone is willing to pay, how quickly you want to sell, others prices and the market at the time ect ect

And yes the OP's car is only an old WRX but from his opening post it sounds like a half decent one. If it is what he says it is then it's worth considerably more than 2 grand.
These threads can't ever give someone an exact value because of the reasons you detail above, but what thay can do is give someone an idea of a price to advertise it based upon others opinions and their knowledge etc etc.

Agreed, but a post above said that all pre 96 impreza's are worth 2 grand max, which is utter crap.

Agree on the variants inc overall condition in that. It seems to me your very offended by the 2k yet there are a lot that sell, on a plus note prices are on the up a bit for pre face lifts. Your car is limited there for different anyway and you should not compare it with Wrx prices. Sadly for the op the sti bits aren't going to get the full return just like any other year IMO.
Agreed that most do sell for peanuts, but that is classic imprezas on a whole. It's not to do with year, it's to do with the car it'self and the fact that most classics are now owned by fecktards.
If the ops car is indeed very clean and does have a built motor then it will demand a premium over the usual ebay and Facebook tat.

I'm not offended one bit chap, I'm well aware of the value of my car. My point was that saying all pre facelifted impreza's are worth so little is quite frankly rediculous.

The sad thing is there are loads selling under 2k so not so ridiculous, pre face lifts are simply the oldest and there for more poor ones IMO and that affects the prices, more to the point for the op if the car is really good and priced a bit more than others for that it will sell to a clued up buyer it just may take longer to find that buyer.
