Are you using the the same head unit/amp/ wiring kit etc should be same sound quality if using a full setup as they are both saloons if I'm right in thinking so ??

well would not go as far as the same. new mono block amp, and new 4 channel, wires etc the same and deck is also new.

put my sub in my mates golf and rocks the place up.. big time!!

Them alpine subs are mint quality and golfs are always gonna have deeper base due to the way the boot is, I'd say it's got to be the head unit as long as the amp is of same quality for defo

my amps are alpine pdx-m12 and pdx-f6

It's far less likely to be just the head unit.

Your 2007 had a piece of molded foam as a rear seat bench... Your new car has proper split seats, far more substantial. As a test, try folding the one rear seat forward, shutting all doors and see if it makes a massive improvement or not

AFTER that, try turning up the setting on your amp, bit at a time.

i have done that, bass is kick ass, put the seats up, gone :(
