Default Billet Alloy Classic brake stoppers

Hi all,

After my last GB on Catch cans I thought I would see if anyone would be interested in a billet alloy brake stopper. I have had these priced up and they are not going to be as cheap as the steel versions out there but will look rather nice. Unfortunately although I wanted one for my track car build it is uneconomical to make just the one

However I thought it worth asking the question, we would need 20 people to get these for £55 each.

I found this copy of a cusco one on ebay - Subaru Impreza WRX STI - CUSCO Style Brake Stopper MCS on eBay (end time 15-Feb-10 15:35:45 GMT)

So you can get then pretty cheap in steel but anyone fancy some bling ?

See this scoobynet thread for some more info/feedback - https://www.scoobynet.com/wheels-tyr...-any-good.html

I think that steel one is a good find. I paid more for mine, for which I had to go out and buy the right bolts etc to make it work. Due to the design, if there is any flexibility in the metal it will not work as well as you'd like. I got one like this, and it definitely bends a bit (got someone to push the pedal while I stood outside and watched)

Maybe with thicker better quality alloy it would be better. But I would think steel would be best.

It has been CAD designed at the correct thickness so as not to flex, however does not seem like any real interest so I will give this one a miss I think

It's a pity there's not much interest, as it is a really worthwhile mod when it works well. My 2002 US bugeye had a rock-hard brake pedal after I put in the BMC stopper, braided lines and bled the system. It felt magic, as the first part of the pedal travel is what gives you confidence. When the brakes kick in immediately you know you have control.
I might end up getting one of the cheap steel ones when I'm feeling a bit richer (aka have a job), as I'm sure the one I bought is not as good as it could be. So thanks for posting that one up!
