Default Team Dynamics Pro Race 1.2 Alloy wheels - Possible grp buy

There is a possibility of a group buy on these alloy wheels. The wheels are Team Dynamics Pro Race 1.2 which are quite light weight & used on various race cars & IIRC, BTCC cars. The good thing about this group buy is that you can choose any offset you want. I still need to confirm finer details but I think you may be even be able to specify different offset for front & back wheels. Also there is a choice of colours,(IIRC Silver/ Black/ Anthracite Grey/ White) please check their website. Please note as these will be manufactured to your own offset, delivery may take 4 weeks after orders are confirmed.

I have been discussing them & tentatively got some prices, though there are still a few points to confirm. All this will get sorted before we go ahead.

The prices below are inc vat; delivered & are for a set of four in 8 x 18" in newage fitment pcd 5 x 114 But prices can also be worked out for classic fitment of 5x100 in 17" which I would imagine would be cheaper than 18".

Less than 5 sets: £475
5 to 9 sets: £455
10 to 19 sets: £434
20 sets >: To be confirmed, but less than £434!

At this initial stage please put your name down if you may be interested & whether for classic or newage & whether 17" or 18" etc

1) RickyA 8x18" / 5x114 / Offset either 42 or 45?

For fitments check: Rimstock Plc Light Alloy Wheels. The Worlds most desirable wheels.
Although when I asked them because these are made to order they can had at any offset you wish. I have emailed Merlin and will update when I get a reply.

Been discussing with Merlin and here is their reply:

"thank you for your enquiry.

We would like to support you but would like a little more information on the specifications required.

The Pro Race 1.2 is available in a range of widths and diameters and I have included a PDF catalogue (2009 version) for your info.
I have also included a price list, again 2009 version but I think the prices are still current.

We would offer a standard discount of 30% for under 5 sets and could increase this for better quantities.
Please bear in mind we have carriage costs to pay on these wheels in the UK -- £14.00 for 1 set of wheels and £50 for a pallet qty.
We would charge this at cost.
Any carriage to yourselves would again be charged at cost.

Offsets from 11mm - 53mm can be easily supplied for these wheels.

Standard colours are: Silver, White and Racing Black -- other colours are available but are charged at additional cost.

If you put together a definite requirement I will quote you a complete cost and would hope to be very competitive."

He has sent me the retail price list and a brochure in pdf that shows the colours etc. but not sure how to attach it here, if anyone has a server PM me and I can email it to you.

In summary 8.0x17 are £180-£200, 9.0x17 are £200-£220 and 8.0x18 are £185-£205, depending on colour combination. They can be ordered with yellow/red/blue lip as well.
These prices are retail (before any discount).

Please put your names down once definite so that we can get a more precise quote.

If I am not mistaken standard Sti wheels are 7.5x17 so you could go 8x17.
As for offset 48 is safe, any lower and you *may* be rubbing if you are lowered.

For offset as above if you want to be sure

If you feel like playing with different offsets try this:
http://www.1010tires.com/WheelOffsetCalculator.asp
Original WRX wheels are 7x17 ET 55.
Sti ones are 7.5x17 ET53 *I think*

If getting single wheels is possible I would be interested in a 7" x 17" ET45 5x100 in Gloss Black.
