Default Brackets to allow BREMBO 2 pot rears to be fitted to classic imprezas

I have spoken to Dan at Godspeed Inc. USA (nothing at all to do with Ian at Godspeed UK) and he is able to supply a kit to allow the Brembo gold 2-pot caipers and disks to be fitted to a classic Impreza.

The kit consists of a pair of iron spacers that are cryo fitted inside the handbrake 'drum' area taking it from 190mm to 170mm (as per the classics) and also a pair of caliper adapters that change the caliper Pitch Centre to Centre (PCC) from 145mm to 115mm. See picture here to see what I mean.

This is a much simpler option than changing the hubs, outer driveshafts, backing plates and possibly modifying the ABS sensors and handbrake cables to suit (not sure on exact details).

Dan says:
That is correct if buying one and the shop has a repair location I do $510.
If buying 5 kits I do $450 each. NO tax as you are out of state. Postage
will be minimal. We send by EMS air express. For 5 kits weight will be
about 20 kg or less. Shipping is $150 for all 5 kits which is $30 per kit.
It will arrive in less than a week and most of the time duties are minimal
with no brokerage fees.

Basically if we can get five people interested the price will be $480 including shipping which works out as £254.80 per set!

There is a possibility that we can source these from the UK, though provisionally the group buy will be placed with Godspeed Inc. USA.

Note that this kit is just to fit the gold brembos to the classic, if you want to fit the subaru 2-pots to the rear of your classic, you need the adapters detailed in the group buy here.

Are the Brembo 2-pots better then the Subaru 2-pots that the other Group Buy relates to?? What are the differences??

Cheers

The Subaru 2-pots are lighter and are easier to fit as you do not have to decrease the handbrake drum diameter, if you can get hold of these I'd go for them rather than the Brembo's.

There must be other people out there with gold brembo's - I've seen a few on the front of classics!

I'll ask the question, and I'll keep an eye out for any Brembo's on classics this weekend, ideally we need to get as many as possible.

I might trawl through posts on here and send PM's to people that have fitted them previously.

Two or three kits would cost $510 each, that's £270.59 in 'real' money!

Is anyone else interested in this group buy?
Thought I would ask again and get something organised, even if it is just a couple of kits.

RoRu has since sold his calipers on ebay, they wouldn't have worked well with only one disk!
