Hi all,
My car is a 1998 uk turbo 2000. my current mods are:
3" straight pipe turbo back
HKS 'mushroom' filter

I currently have on order:
440cc injectors
Walbro 255l fuel pump.

my questions are:
-what do i need, ECU wise, to fit a TD05? (I've heard a lot about '-Z4' ECU's but haven't a clue)
-what TD05 would be most suitable for my set up?
-what other parts have i forgot if i was going to fit a TD05?

Your Year 1998 v4 leaves less options ecu wise, Standalone like Apexi, Simtek or have an ESL board fitted to yours. Prodrive did an ecu which is quite rare and go for good money. You could also look at one of the V4 STI ecu's but need to match the mods and change a few wires over on the cam & crank pins. ESL may be in your favour as it allows your ecu to be mapped to whatever mods you fit to your car and starts at around £295+vat.
