Default Recommend me a light weight battery

As the title really, but has to be powerful as well,I don't want a battery that has to be charged every time you switch the radio on or switch the car off thanks in advance.SJ.

depends on how "lightweight" you want it??

we can do race style very light ones or a higher output compact style (but more simliar to std weight)

have a couple of high output ones to clear at favourable pricing

I've got an optimo battery on my type r, but if it's not used for a couple of weeks it's flat, it doesn't like me using a subwoofer either

Hi SJ

Have run Odyssey PC680,which has been OK,but still I would rather use standard battery such as battery is used in Spec C,if you want to use above mentioned battery(PC680) then I would suggest to use battery conditioner something like CTEK

Usually when my brother went on trip to US or Asia on 1 week, after one week car started nicely and easily, but if you are not using car for longer time,I would strongly recommend to use conditioner

But if you are running Syvecs, you will need to run battery with higher cranking/output,but with this will be able help Alyn@ASP

Thanks,Jura

Thanks Jura for advice my wife has contacted Alyn for me as I'm at work and he will email me back with what battery's he does.I wanted to get a lighter battery as the standard battery's are well heavy and part of my project is trying to improve the kerb weight of my vehicle with either getting rid of the none essentials or cutting down the weight of parts me included.SJ.

After talking to a mate on nasioc he advised that the small odyssey battery would work but would be to finicky as I have audio still,he said if I was running the bare car (no audio)maybe a set of dials it would be ok.So he advised me to get the model above which is still 10kg lighter then my O.E battery and provides double the amps and power cold cranking etc... then the PC680 so I have put in a order for that odyssey one.I guess I'll have to wait and see how I get on with it but he reassured me he has the same model and it's been in his daily driver for 5 year with no problems,so I feel a little bit better.SJ.

I run an oddysey & it's fine even running 6 dials & an Alkatec, but if the car is left standing for more than a few days the battery is flat my alarm drains it. You need to get a CTec charger to keep it topped up. Once flat normal charges don't seem to work on them either, but a CTec charges them easily. It's not just the weight saving, the smaller battery frees up loads of space, my catch can now sits where the battery was.
