STI not charging
Hi all
Got a problem with 2004 scooby not charging
I've checked all wiring also lucky enough to have
Spare alternator which I fitted still not charging. Had
Auto electrician check out system can't find a fault .
Taken alternators in for testing both came back as
All good . Battery all checked charged & healthy
Scratching my head where to go next
Any ideas much appreciated

Ive had similar with a toyota last week. Although the alternator when tested was charging ok. The smart bit of the regulator wasnt sending a signal back to the car to tell the ecu it was charging.

That's possible but I've already tried another alternator off my own car that I knew was good . I've had both alternators tested on bench by specialist & they say they are fine . When I fitted other alternator it did charge for around 1 minute though ???

Have you got a battery live on the white wire ? this is fused by an 80amp fuse in the engine bay.
The blue and red wire will go back into the cars internal fuse box number 3 which is linked to the light relays.
The black an white wire goes to the battery lamp on the dash clocks, if that's working then that should be ok.
the only other wire is solid black and goes to the ECU
