Please can you have a listen to this on YouTube it's the knocking noise my impreza makes, it is comin from the drivers side of the engine. When the car is cold there is no noise but as it warms up it appears and this is when it is at its loudest. Does any have any ideas what it is?
Hard to hear on the vid, could be a number of things, tappet broken piston ring, small end bearing, big end bearing ect dont sound good what ever it is, hope its nothing too serious though.

It's hard to here on a video. Did they remove downpipe from turbo when fitting clutch? If so it could be leaking if they used old gasket or not tightened nuts properly. Its hard to feel around the turbo because it's hot but try to feel for leaks or nip up nuts.might be worse when warm where metals expand
99.9% big end knock, ive heard a few! the reason why it sounds like its coming from the head is that the piston on the failed big end starts hitting the head.
I was told mine was big end bearing as well and it turned out to be the inlet cam gear fooked. This doesn't sound like mine but don't go forking out big money for what could be a silly fault IMO
Drop the oil into a clean container (though a cloth) and check for debris, once it's drained you can 'swab' the bottom on the sump through the drain hole also. If it is big end it's obvious from all the swarf.
Does sound like a exhaust leak or something not done up correctly. You can drop the oil and look for metal pieces that used to be the big ends to check.
