Default Squeaking fan belt

Every morning when I start up my motor the fan belt squeaks like mad for 2 or 3 mins. Checked the belt and feels pretty tight on a classic btw. Any ideas could it be the pas pump going or just a case of tweaking the belt correctly ?
Any ideas as starting to irritate me now. Gets noisier when it is wet weather too. Oh a pas rack seems very heavy if I do not warm up before setting off. Help !

Fit a new belt and tension correctly. The belt slipping is probably the cause of the heavy steerin

I would mark the tensioners with tip ex. Take the belts off and check them. Spin the pulleys and see if any are really rough or squeak. Maybe get two new belts. You can put one belt on at a time and try it to do it via the process of elimination but obviously with the aux belt off your alternator wont work so don't leave the car running long like that.

P.s. it shouldn't have a fan belt

So does correct tension which is priority. I've got the same on mine. New pair fitted not 6 weeks ago and they need adjusting again.

Drive belts will harden, glaze up and crack during their lifetime.
A new belt (and correctly tensioned as mentioned above) will cure it.

Aftermarket alloy pulleys will also glaze up. Combine this with the glazed/old belts, damp weather, poor tension and squeaks it will annoy you!

The slipping will also weight up the steering as the PAS will not be efficient.
