No to the checklight.

Does the interior fan work? if not, check fuses.
If all else fails, you MAY find the linkage that moves the flap to divert air over/through the heater matrix, is either dislodged, or broken.

Are the hoses to the heater matrix getting hot?

If so then water is flowing through, check both in and out.

So if they are hot, its an issue with flaps etc thst divert the air around the dash to either the vents or windscreen.

But do check the heater fan: when my interior fan went of the Xantia, the car would only give WARM air.

This could be a faulty heater matrix or a duff water pump.

was like winning the world cup, checked all controls and they were moving as they should, felt the pipes from matrix and one was hot and other felt like it was getting warm, squeezed return pipe a few times at point it meets crossover then all of a sudden heat! spent three days draining,re-drain ing, every time doing it as said on here, amazing what one little gap can do. learnt loads through the experience though.

You might think of draining again: you've obviously dislodged some debris, you don't want it blocking something important.

Maybe do a flush too.
