Eibachs - are they worth it? How much?

I take it that these lower the car by 20mm therefore improving performance and at the same time improving handling - true??
How much are they? And how much to get them fitted?

£140+VAT+fitting - allow 2 hours to get them on and the geometry reset. The lack of body roll is quite obvious without a significant deterioration in ride quality. There is less understeer and less wooliness. The lowering effect is slight. Some would say disappointing.

How does this affect handling?
Does it reduce the effect of bump-steer dialled into the car? (My thinking here is that it could reduce the distance between steering rack and wheel centre...)

Ditto what John says really. Also depends on what model you have. The drop in ride height is more noticable on the new (MY01) model (see my car below) and it does firm up the ride. Handling is a huge step forward though and the reduction in bodyroll is very worthwhile.
As regards bumpsteer, I know that Powerstation would still recommend that you have that done as well. On the new car it won't matter as there is virtually no bumpsteer anyway.

Chris,
Equally sorry to go off, point although the Eibachs information is interesting.I don't particularly want my car lowered (visually) but would like the handling improvement. Thoughts?
But, what I really wanted to know, are your alloys 18" or 17"? They seem like P1 alloys or Oz alloys. Any help?
Thanks mate,
M.

i'm no suspension expert,by any means, but,'new 'lowering springs on old dampers won't improve handling....suspension setting is a science unto itself.
imho, lowering springs are for cosmetics only,if thats what you want, choose another brand coz eibachs won't make any noticeable difference at all....except to your wallet!!!....and before i'm slaughtered, yes,i have them on my car........................btw can anyone lend me a tenner?

Hi
The spoiler is from Rallytech (www.rallytech.com - WRC2000 replica) - cost around £500 painted.
Wheels are 18" Prodrive OZ
Handling is improved because the there is less body roll on the new springs. Granted you can probably get the same effect with any set of aftermarket springs, but this is based on my own experience.
The first picture of my car was taken at an airfield performance driving day a few months back. Andy Walsh who run the course and races Elise's drove both my car and and older MY97 Scoob. Enough to say that in his opinion, the new car is a huge step forward from the old. He was very impressed with the MY01 and also commented on how the lowered springs helped. On one test, he setup a 90 deg left hand bend to test our ability and the cars ability to corner under control. The Elise spun out at 80mph, he took my car through at 90 mph + and still said there was more to come I was quite pleased (the Pzero's were shagged though )

I went to order a spring kit yesterday for my WRX.
There is a minimum wait of 4weeks for Eibachs for the MY01>
I was looking to have the suspension done at the cars 30K service on Wednesday (to reduce labour costs), but Eibachs are no longer an option.
What are the views on the Prodrive Kit? It is no more expensive than the Eibach set but what, if any, differences are there in the end result?

Yes, Eibachs are noticably better and are very good value for money. I'd be very surprised if you went for them and were not impressed/pleased with your purchase.

Hi all,
Anyone know the difference between the eibachs which fit to standard shocks and those which need modified shocks? Is it to with the height or the damping or both?
I've a feeling my 93wrx is seriously in need of stiffer springs and softer damping. And lowered ride height, to give ultimate uk b-road curshing ability.
