Default Subaru WRX

hi think im in the right section

i have a 2005 wrx turbo blob eye 65k on clock
I am getting a knocking sound from the rear passenger sound like its right on wheel been getting louder when i go over bumps etc
seemed when i was going low speed turning it went on drivers side rear aswell abit no where near as bad as passenger side any ideas

exhaust does not seem to be loose at all either

brakes? when i get to 80+ on a bad road and have to brake quite hard it shakes wheel now i heard this could be because breaks need upgrading or replacing?
thanks

i got subaru to have a look which cost 45 quid but it turns out they never checked it just engine right helpful that was

also when i slow down say to park i can feel the rear brakes are not like working at the same time like one then over kind of thing

It could be the front/rear drop links I recently replaced mine made a massive difference, brake discs could be on their way out might be worth replacing.

Sounds like the same as most. If you only really notice on a slow bumpy road or when parking ect it Could be rear shocks knocking. Also the wobble from braking could be due to worn or warped discs. Which is what both my problems where after having the same as you describe on my sti

My wrx blob started knocking like this, replaced the struts with coilovers and the knocking is no more.

Depends if you could do it yourself! If a garage had to do it it may cost you a lot.

From Subaru probably £500 for the rears maybe more. Either strip them and re-grease them or get a set of coilovers and never have the knock again!

Top fluid up and see if I level drops, then you'll be able to tell if you've got a leak! Wouldn't think low brake fluid would cause a knocking noise.....

Get it to a Subaru specialist and get them to check it over. Does sound like you could have warped discs tho

Could be your rear shocks sticking due to the rubbish grease they used from the factory. Mine done this but was also knocking

Couldn't tell you how to check them. All I know is mine done the same when braking at a higher speed. Was told by a mechanic that the discs where warped so changed them and now it's fine

Easy way to check if its the shocks, squirt wd40 where the damper and outer casing meet this should stop the knocking short term a few days. When the knocking returns you'll know.

Quite an easy job to change. Also have a look at drop links and ARB bushes
