Default New to Subaru, couple of silly questions

Hi all,

Yesterday I bought this:

Is this about right for the engine temperature gauge?

That might sound silly, but I've been used to cars where the temperature always reads exactly on the mid-point when warmed up. I did a 3+hour journey in the Subaru yesterday, so I'd have thought that plenty of time for it to get to temperature.

Also, is this button on top of the steering wheel simply sidelights for when the car is parked?

Thanks all...

Yes, my temp doesn't move from there even when my ScanGaugeII says the water temp is at 92-93'c..
I can only assume its non-linear scale.

Sweet, thanks guys...

In that case I LOVE this car! It was supposed to be a 'winter hack' so that I could keep my daily off the road, but I'm finding myself grinning a lot! This may well be so much more than just a winter car!

Your fuel gauge is also probably faulty...I can't remember seeing that much fuel in mine for an age.....

But yes and yes to the questions.

Haha, thanks.

I'm actually quite surprised by how good it's been on fuel so far...only had it a day though and most of the mileage was motorway work.

51mpg from our Astra 1.9 TDi 150 this weekend, four large adults, cases etc, and over the M62, queuing half of the way to Blackpool and back.

Diesel is the way to go.

(My other car is a modded Scoob....it doesn't see much use now )

You sound like PS Lewis

Enjoy the Scoob and try not to think about MPG, but instead more about sMilesPG - something no diesel can ever come close to
